Microsoft's ClipChamp
ClipChamp was acquired by Microsoft in 2022. In 2023 it became the default video editor in Windows 10 and 11 and now requires a Microsoft account. This is a very easy to use browser based freemium video editor. The free version is very restrictive, exporting HD (720 or 1089p) videos with a watermark or SD (480p) without a watermark. The paid version is a subscription service and is very expensive, probably one of the highest costing options at your disposal running from $9.99 per month for an annual subscription or $11.99 per month for a month to month subscription plan. ClipChamp is available from the Microsoft store and the Apple App store.
Microsoft's Video Editor (now in MS Photos Legacy)
This software was the replacement for Windows Movie Maker, and was part of the Photos app on your Windows machine until September 2023. To get this feature back, download Microsoft Photos Legacy from the Microsoft store. No Microsoft account required. It is a very easy to use editor. This editor allows you to combine clips and still pictures, rotate, trim, split and fit to frame and add music or a custom soundtrack. MS Photos Legacy is available for Windows 10 and 11 in the Windows store, but it no longer turns up in a search.
