OVERVIEW
In 2023, Vista Royale Computer Club had a meeting on how to use the new laundry room facilities that were installed in 2022. We covered how to pay with the App, how to pay with the card, the advantages and disadvantages of each method, we also discussed how to do a hot water wash and how to extend the time on the dryer. We are preserving that information for new residents.

HOW TO PAY
There are two ways to pay for your laundry at Vista Royale, the Wash-Connect Laundry card, and the smartphone Wash-Connect App. As part of the change over from the coin operated machines, complimentary laundry cards were available at the association office. There is only one complimentary card available per unit. Additional cards can be purchased for $5 from the kiosk in any of the clubhouses. Please note that these $5 cards have NO FUNDS loaded.
LOADING THE CARD WITH FUNDS
To load the laundry card with funds visit the Wash kiosk at any of the 4 clubhouses. The kiosk in the Royal Palm ClubHouse (RPCH) is the only one that takes cash. The kiosk at RPCH will accept a $5, $10 or $20 bill, the whole amount is added to the card, there is no cash back. Remember that the Royal Palm clubhouse is locked after 3pm and on the weekends and national holidays.
All of the clubhouse kiosks will accept credit / debit cards. When using a credit card, you can load $5, $10 or choose other amount and enter a custom amount.
Place the card in the card holder and follow the prompts on the screen.
The maximum amount you can load onto your card is $50.

CARD ADVANTAGES
You don't need a smart phone Your helper can do your wash. You can load $5, $10, or a custom amount from a credit card. You can load $5, $10 or $20 using cash at the Royal Palm Clubhouse. |
CARD DISADVANTAGES
You need to visit one of the clubhouse to load funds. Club house systems are often down. Royal Palm is locked daily after 3 pm and weekends. If you lose the card, it is the same as losing cash. Replacement cards are $5. No transaction history. |
USING THE APP
The Wash Connect app for your smartphone is available from the Google Plays Store and the Apple App Store.
Bluetooth must be enabled on your smartphone to communicate with the washer and dryer. For many people this app would not see the washer and dryer until their phone was rebooted. Before you load funds on the app, we recommend that you make sure that you downloaded the correct app, by checking the app in your laundry room to make sure it sees the the machines in your laundry room.
Funds can only be added in the set amounts of $10, $15, $25 or $40 at a time.

Another user name and password. Password recovery feature in the app is broken. Minimum reload amount is $10, the balance refundable if you close the account. If someone is helping you with your laundry, the helper will need access to your account . Might need to restart your phone to get the app to work the first time. |
EXTENDING YOUR DRY TIME
The dryer time can be extended by 15 Minutes for 25¢. There must be time left on the dryer, and it must be less than 44 minutes remaining. There is a bug in the programming that will take your quarter and give you nothing in return, if adding 15 minutes would be more than the timers maximum 60 minutes.

Look at your active machines and hit Extend Time, and then tap PAY $.25

WASHING IN HOT WATER
While washing in cool or cold water is better for the environment and the longevity of your clothes, sometimes you really want to wash in hot water. Changing the temperature to hot will give you water that is not quite as warm as the water in the Vista Royale pools. To get hot water, in addition to changing the temperature to HOT, change the wash option to DELUXE or ULTRA.
