There are a wide variety of internet provider options here at Vista Royale. They vary a lot in terms of cost and reliability. The type of internet connection you pick for your stay at Vista Royale will depend on if you are full time or part time resident or a sporadic residence.
The Computer Club is open from mid-October through early April and offers a safe internet access during the season. The Computer Club has deepfreeze protected desktop computers hard wired for internet access. We also offer wired and wireless access to the internet for your mobile devices. A seasonal membership is available for $20.
The Clubhouses at Vista Royale are equipped with high speed internet for use at the clubhouses. Obtain a password from the Vista Royale Office. This is not very secure even though it is password protected.
For those of us with smart phones with an unlimited data plan, we can use our phones as a personal hotspot to connect our tablet or computer to the internet. This provides a safe connection and works well if you are here for a week or two at a time.

TRADITIONAL LAND BASED OPTIONS
AT&T – AT&T delivers internet by way of fiber optics. A modem router rental is already part of your Vista Royale bulk TV package, so with just a phone call to the AT&T connected community service line, 1 (866) 299-6824, or logging into your AT&T account online, you can add or remove internet service from your account. There is no installation or disconnect fee and no home visit. AT&T no longer offers a discount for full year commitment, so the seasonal rate and annual rate are the same. With discounts for paperless discount and auto-pay the rate for 300MB service is $55.00 per month as of Oct 15, 2023. Subscribing to AT&T internet also adds the Stingray Music channels to your TV subscription, gives you a premium subscription to Stingray Music on your phone or tablet, and allows you access to some interacive apps like the Home Shopping Network on your TV. XFINITY – Our buildings were originally wired for Comcast/Xfinity, so the coax cabling is already in your unit. Many of the buildings were rewired in 2016, other buildings have very old wiring. Depending on the condition of your building’s wiring and your proximity to the service closet in your building, Xfinity may be a viable option for you. Xfinity offers a wide choice of speeds and can be had for as low as $9.95 + fees for low income households qualifying for the “internet essential” program. Xfinity still offers introductory rates for new customers that can make it a better deal for the first year, than AT&T internet, but the unbundled rate after the honeymoon period ends tends to be much higher than what you get with AT&T for high speed internet when bundled with your community TV service. |
CELLULAR OPTIONS
A MOBILE HOTSPOT - is a portable router that gets the internet from a cellular provider. Cellular data is more expensive and have lower data caps than traditional land based data plans. The equipment costs between $50 and $700 or more depending on what kind of speed and how many devices will be using it simultaneously. A household of one or two people generally would be able to get the service they want with a cellular modem costing between 50 and 200 dollars. Then you will need a data plan from a cellular carrier. Some carriers only offer annual plans, others can be month to month. For people that live in multiple locations these may can be a great option. 5G FIXED WHOLE HOUSE INTERNET This is something new. Unlike a mobile hotspot, this service is restricted to a specific address. This is a blazing fast service with no data cap, no contract. Pricing varies greatly depending on bundles. 5G can be expensive relative to land based options but is supposed to be cheaper than Mobile WiFi. Weather conditions and cellular traffic, can effect speed. This service is rolling out around the country. At this time it is not available at Vista Royale. |
