ABC streaming with U-verse
When we first signed up for U-verse there was a lot of On Demand content available. Most of the U-verse On Demand content has been removed from the set top boxes and is now only available via streaming.
Unfortunately, in the fall of 2024, ABC withdrew their ABC, Free Form, FX, and National Geographic streaming apps from all the streaming devices and moved all their FX On Demand to the HULU streaming service at an additional cost. There are still two ways to stream ABC's content with your U-Verse credentials.
One method is to use the U-Verse mobile on your smartphone or tablet to watch live content of FreeForm, FX, FXX, FXM, NatGeo (National Geographic), and NatGeo Wild.
The other is by accessing ABC.COM website through a browser on a phone, tablet or personal computer. Besides the live content of FreeForm, FX, FXX, FXM,National Geographic and NatGeo Wild, the website access also has 100s of On Demand titles for ABC, FreeForm and NatGeo.

Head on over to the ABC.com and Link TV Provider.
Select AT&T U-verse from the list of providers.
Then you will be directed to an AT&T website where you use your AT&T billing credentials. Simple as that.
THE BIG SCREEN
Both using the U-Verse app and the website methods are designed for viewing on a small personal screen. This is not very practical if you want to watch TV with another person. Ideally you would like to see this on a big screen. My 2024 smartTV had a built-in web browser so tried streaming the ABC website from that browser, and all I can say is that with constant buffering and no ability to go full screen it wasn't an enjoyable experience.
I tried mirroring from my various computing devices. Mirroring is a process where whatever is on your small screen is displayed on your TV. Mirroring can be done via a HDMI connection or wirelessly.
Apple's iOS doesn't allow content from the U-verse app or from most streaming websites to be mirrored to a TV. The commercials stream, but when the show starts the picture typically goes black.
The Androids and Windows operating systems do allow mirroring from this website. Getting an Android to mirror to anything other than a Chromecast is very hit or miss. Some of my Androids do see my streamers, others don't. My Androids that can mirror to my devices don't do a good job. The video appears to be a series of still pictures with voices speaking in the background. My Androids are old, newer models might have enough power to make this feasible.
Only my Windows PC with a 2.8Ghz i7 processor could project the video from PC to my Roku's and smartTV providing a picture similar to watching TV from the set-top-box or a smart streaming app.
I feel like ABC sent me back to the dark ages!
